Privacy Policy

Bryxoft ("we", "us", "our") built StepLoom as a free, ad-supported step tracking app. This page explains what information the app collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. By using StepLoom, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.

What StepLoom Tracks — and Where It's Stored

StepLoom is built to work fully offline. Your step count, activity history, goals, and streaks are recorded using your device's built-in motion/step sensor and stored locally on your device using standard on-device storage. We do not upload your step history, goals, or personal activity data to our servers, and we do not require you to create an account to use the app.

You can permanently erase this locally stored data at any time using the data wipe option in the app's settings, or simply by uninstalling the app.

Information We Collect

• Device & log data — device model, operating system version, app version, and basic diagnostic/log data collected automatically when the app is used, mainly to help us fix crashes and bugs.
• Advertising identifiers — a resettable device advertising ID used by Google AdMob to serve and measure ads.
• Usage & analytics data — anonymized, aggregated information about how the app is used (e.g. which screens are opened, feature usage) collected via Firebase Analytics, to help us understand what's working and improve the app.
• Crash & performance data — automatically collected via Firebase Crashlytics when the app encounters an error, so we can diagnose and fix it.
• Purchase status — if you unlock the one-time premium upgrade, Google Play Billing handles the transaction and shares only the purchase/entitlement status with us. We never see or store your payment card details.

We do not collect precise real-time GPS location. Step counting relies on your device's built-in motion/activity sensors, not location services.

Permissions StepLoom Uses

• Physical Activity / Motion & Fitness — required to count your steps using the device's step sensor.
• Notifications — used to show goal, streak, and reminder notifications. You can disable these anytime in your device settings.
• Run at startup (Boot) — allows step tracking and reminders to resume automatically after your device restarts.
• Battery optimization / Autostart exemption — on some devices (including but not limited to Xiaomi, Huawei, Honor, Oppo, Vivo, Realme, OnePlus, Tecno, Infinix, and itel), the operating system aggressively closes background apps. We may prompt you to disable battery optimization or enable "Autostart" for StepLoom in your device settings, so step counting continues accurately after your phone restarts or goes to sleep. This setting is managed entirely by your device's operating system, not by us, and you can decline or revoke it at any time from your device settings.

Third-Party Services

StepLoom uses the following third-party services, each with its own privacy policy governing the data they process:

• Google Play Services
• Google AdMob
• Firebase Analytics
• Firebase Crashlytics
• Google Play Billing

Advertising

StepLoom shows ads served by Google AdMob to keep the app free. AdMob may use advertising identifiers and SDK technologies to show relevant ads and measure their performance. You can opt out of personalized ads or reset your advertising ID at any time from your device's own settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads on most Android devices) — this is a setting controlled by your device's operating system, not by StepLoom.

Your Consent Choices (EEA, UK & Switzerland)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, StepLoom uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to show you a consent form the first time you open the app, in line with the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework (TCF) and Google's EU User Consent Policy. This form lets you choose whether to allow personalized advertising, and explains which ad and measurement partners may process your data.

• You can allow or reject personalized ads at any time from this initial consent screen.
• You can change your choice later from the app's Settings → Ad Preferences screen, which reopens the same consent form.
• If you do not consent to personalized advertising, you will still see ads, but they will be non-personalized (based on general context rather than your activity or identifiers).
• Consent choices are stored locally on your device and are not shared with us directly — Google and its ad-technology partners rely on this signal to determine how ads are served to you.

California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected about you, to request deletion of that information, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Because StepLoom does not collect or store personal information on our servers, most of this data lives only on your device and under your control. Data Security

We take reasonable, commercially acceptable measures to protect any information processed by the app and its third-party services. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

StepLoom is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

Data Retention & Deletion

Your step and activity history stays on your device and is fully within your control — you can clear it at any time from the app's settings, or by uninstalling the app. Diagnostic and analytics data collected via Firebase is retained only as long as necessary for the purposes described above, in line with Google/Firebase's own retention practices.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page along with an updated effective date, so please check back periodically.
